Those things were kind of bubbling around in my head and after aĬonversation with a friend, in which I speculated about the idea of The 'it's always too domestic', 'it's always box ticking', 'it's alwaysīecause we know someone or are friends with someone' - I realised it's ![]() ![]() Then I read two amazing books, Citizen by Claudia Rankine and Between The World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates.įollowing some comments I received about diverse writing - such as Every time we sat down to talk about diversity, we concluded I had done one too many panels on diversity and publishing and notĮnough panels on just being a writer, and I felt as though nothing wasĬhanging.
